Platelet rich plasma (PRP) can be used in a variety of beautifying therapies, including hair restoration, microneedling, or it can be injected directly into the face for facial rejuvenation. PRP is full of growth factors and nutrients that not only help with tissue regeneration and repair, but also stimulate collagen production. During a PRP appointment, the nurse practitioner will collect blood in a special tube, spin it in a centrifuge. This will allow the platelets, plasma, and fibrin to separate from the whole blood. This “liquid gold” is then carefully removed from the tube and injected in the desired area.
The benefits of a PRP Facial will be visible over the next few weeks giving a glowing appearance to your skin. For the best results, it is beneficial to get a series of 3 treatments, and 1-2 maintenance treatments per year thereafter.
